How do I send a letter of demand from QuickBooks?
- Connect QuickBooks. Sign in with Intuit and pick your company. You come back to SydneyCollect signed in.
- Pick the invoices. Every invoice with a balance is listed, overdue ones first, with the customer, the days overdue and the balance.
- Check the letter. Your customer, the balance, the invoice number and due date are filled in, with the invoice PDF attached. Add your bank details once, because QuickBooks doesn't share them.
- Pay and send. $29 per letter. It goes to your customer today.
- We watch the balance. When a payment or credit is applied in QuickBooks, the follow-ups stop and we ask you to confirm.
What do we read from QuickBooks?
| What we read | What it's for |
|---|---|
| Invoices | The balance, the invoice number, the dates and the invoice PDF for the letter |
| Customers | Your customer's name, email, mobile, billing address and ABN |
| Company info | Your business name, address, phone and email |
| Payments | Which invoices a payment was applied to, so the follow-ups stop |
QuickBooks asks you to allow access to your accounting data, because Intuit doesn't offer a read-only option. We only read: we never create, change or delete anything in your QuickBooks. We keep only the invoices you send letters for, and we never use your QuickBooks data to train AI. Our privacy policy says how we look after it.
Which customers can you send to?
Customers in NSW, Victoria, Queensland and the ACT. You can be anywhere in Australia: what matters is where your customer is. Invoices to customers in WA, SA, Tasmania or the NT still show in the list, marked as ones we can't send, because we aren't licensed to collect debts there. Our free letter of demand generator lets you send one yourself.
Can I connect more than one company?
Bookkeepers and businesses with more than one QuickBooks company can connect each one, and switch between them at the top of the list.
How do I disconnect?
Open your dashboard, go to Account, and press Disconnect beside the company. That ends our access at Intuit too. You can also remove SydneyCollect from QuickBooks' list of connected apps. Letters already sent carry on, but we won't see payments in QuickBooks any more.
